Be Enterprising to exceed expectations.
At Colliers, we act quickly to create and seize opportunities for our clients, embracing change and thinking differently to generate new and better solutions.
What does it mean to be enterprising for Jay Hennick, Colliers’ global chairman & CEO? In 1989, Jay Hennick rolled Superior Pools, a company he founded at 15, into a newly established business called FirstService Corporation to pursue broader opportunities in the service sector. He knew the industry well, and it was under-appreciated with a lot of opportunity. One of the FirstService acquisitions, Colliers International, was poised for growth as an independent public company. In 2015, after nearly 20 successful years as a public company, FirstService split into two companies. Jay remains the Founder, Chairman, and controlling shareholder of FirstService and also serves as the Global Chairman, CEO and controlling shareholder of Colliers.
This series highlights stories from Colliers U.S. professionals that exemplify our values, displaying who we are, what we do and how we are different in order to maximize the potential of property to accelerate the success of our clients and our people.
