The 2024 Colliers Tenant Advisory Council (TAC) Annual Event provided industry relevant insights for TAC members, clients and partners through two days of workshops, panels, and networking opportunities. Our attendees heard from some of the largest occupiers and landlords in Manhattan, and developed new insights on issues that will impact occupiers into the future.
Differentiating Through Client Engagement
The event began with a development workshop led by Gerald Clerx of Engage BRILLIANTLY Training Group. The session focused on Colliers’ differentiators, which is centered around its people. Our TAC brokers are highly skilled within their professions, and they had the opportunity to further develop relationships with each other and learn how the Colliers culture continues to drive success metrics with clients. Overall, the workshop focused on aligning strategies with client goals and effectively communicating Colliers’ value to its partners.
Complex Transactions, Market Trends and Leadership Lessons from the Field
A panel discussion on navigating complex transactions, moderated by Ron Zappile, Senior Vice President of Portfolio Strategy Consulting at Colliers, featured industry leaders Philippe B. Visser, President at Related Office Development; John Saclarides, Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Corporate Real Estate; and David Kamen, Global Real Estate Leader at The Cigna Group. Panelists shared practical strategies for addressing the unique challenges of large-scale headquarters projects, from managing stakeholder expectations to ensuring flexibility in long-term planning. Collaboration, the importance of building strong relationships and adaptability emerged as key drivers of success in these intricate transactions.
Frank Wallach, Executive Managing Director of New York Research & Business Development at Colliers, delivered a detailed analysis of the New York real estate market. His presentation emphasized the importance of data-driven strategies and thoughtful research to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in dynamic environments like New York City.
Later in the day, New York Giants legend Phil Simms captivated us during a keynote fireside chat moderated by David Amsterdam, President of Capital Markets U.S. at Colliers. Drawing parallels between sports and business, Phil highlighted the importance of resilience, adaptability, and teamwork. His inspiring anecdotes encouraged attendees to approach challenges with clarity, determination, and a collaborative mindset.
Building the Future of Corporate Real Estate
The event concluded with a panel discussion on optimizing corporate real estate departments, moderated by Jodie Poirier, President of Occupier Services, America at Colliers. Panelists from Spotify, Bass Berry Sims, and Unisys emphasized:

- Employee Engagement: Aligning real estate strategies with organizational culture to boost employee retention and satisfaction.
